Wellspring Programs Wellspring Cancer Support Network is now offering cancer support programs in Thunder Bay , in conjunction with Hospice Northwest. The partnership was launched with a specialized Yoga program, available free of charge to Thunder Bay and area residents with any type of cancer, at any stage of their illness, and their caregivers. Yoga classes are held every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:00 at the Hospice Northwest office in Thunder Bay . The instructors are Marina McEachern and Colleen Sadler. The Also slated to begin in April 2009 is a program offering tools to cope with the challenges of cancer, as well as an expert-led workshop called Money Matters, which helps people learn where their money will come from when they can no longer work as a result of a cancer diagnosis. All Wellspring programs are free of charge. Thunder Bay has been chosen as one of 4 communities in which the programs will be offered. This pilot project is funded in part by The Ontario Trillium Foundation. Wellspring is a network of centres that provide a range of programs and services to meet the emotional, social, psychological and educational needs of people living with cancer, and those who care for them. |
