At Hospice Northwest, we celebrate caregivers and the differences they make in the lives of others.
Providing care to a person who is ill can be both very rewarding and very difficult. Whether you are a hospice volunteer or a family member/friend providing support to a loved one, Hospice Northwest is dedicated to providing assistance to you as you care for others.
With this in mind, we have put together some resources that we hope will be helpful to you.
Caregivers’ Online Support Group: You as a caregiver are at the heart of the health care system. You don’t have to feel alone. Hospice Northwest is developing a new online support group which connects caregivers through sharing experiences and offers emotional and informative support. Topics for this pilot project will include:
- Tips on how to navigate the health care system
- Further education about specific conditions
- Transitioning from home to long term care
- Stress/anger relieving activities
- Changes to the relationship
- First hand experiences
- Financial information
- Self care
